I managed to quit smoking on Jan 12, 1988. It was my first attempt. I had been smoking over 25 years and was up to 2 – 3 packs a day. I don’t consider myself religious but do claim to be spirtual. I began praying for the willingness to be willing and on Jan. 12 I woke up and the willingness was there, I took all cigarettes and astrays out of the house put them in the trunk of my car to be given to a friend later. Even after 18 years without a cigarette I still get the urge at times. To this day I still have some shortness of breath with vigrous exercise.
